Asheron's Call is a classic MMORPG released in 1999 by Turbine Entertainment, set in the fantasy world of Dereth where players choose from three distinct races (Aluvian, Gharu'ndim, and Sho) and embark on adventures filled with dynamic quests, fierce combat, and a rich, evolving storyline. Known for its innovative skill-based progression system—allowing players to customize their characters freely without rigid class restrictions—the game stood out for its monthly episodic updates, known as "Monthly Content," which introduced new events, lore, and world changes. With a strong emphasis on community, open-world exploration, and PvP (particularly in the Dark Majesty expansion's PvP-focused server), Asheron's Call fostered a dedicated fanbase until its servers shut down in 2017, leaving a lasting legacy as a pioneer in the MMORPG genre.
